1,500 Mangroves Planted at Dongokundu: Communities Unite for a Greener Coast

Every restored coastline begins with a community that chooses to act. Today, Prawns Lake Conservation Group joined hands with conservation partners, government agencies, community organizations, and local residents for a Mangrove Conservation Awareness and Tree Planting Day at Dongokundu. Together, we planted 1,500 mangrove seedlings a meaningful step toward restoring one of Kenya's most valuable coastal ecosystems. The event was about more than planting trees. It was about inspiring people to understand why mangroves matter and how every individual can contribute to protecting our environment.

Mangrove Conservation in Kenya: How Prawns Lake is Restoring Nature, One Seedling at a Time

It's about restoring ecosystems. Supporting local communities. Protecting marine life. Creating sustainable livelihoods. And ensuring future generations inherit a healthier coastline. At Prawns Lake Watamu, every conservation activity is driven by one belief: When communities protect nature, nature protects communities.
