By accessing and using the website prawnslake.org (the “Website”) and booking any services or experiences offered by Prawns Lake Conservation Project (the “Organization,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. 3.1 Booking Process
All bookings for experiences, tours, and conservation programs must be made through:

3.2 Confirmation
Booking confirmation will be provided via WhatsApp, email, or phone call. You are responsible for confirming receipt of booking confirmation.
3.3 Payment Terms
- Payment must be received to secure your booking
- Payment methods accepted: Cash, M-Pesa, bank transfer
- Full payment or deposit as specified at time of booking
- Prices are in Kenya Shillings (KES) unless otherwise stated
3.4 Age and Health Requirements
- Participants must meet age and health requirements for specific activities
- Children under 12 years must be supervised by an adult
- Participants with health conditions should inform us in advance
- Pregnant women should consult their healthcare provider before water activities
- The Organization reserves the right to deny participation if deemed unsafe
4. Cancellation and Refund Policy
4.1 Cancellation by Guest
- More than 7 days before booking: Full refund minus 10% administrative fee
- 3–7 days before booking: 50% refund
- Less than 3 days before booking: No refund
- No-show: No refund
4.2 Cancellation by Organization
We may cancel or reschedule due to:
- Severe weather conditions
- Natural disasters or emergencies
- Insufficient participants (minimum group size not met)
- Safety concerns
- Government-issued travel restrictions
In case of cancellation by the Organization, guests will receive either:
- Full refund, OR
- Rescheduling to alternative date
4.3 Weather and Safety
The Organization reserves the right to postpone or cancel any outdoor activity due to:
- Excessive rainfall or flooding
- High winds or storms
- Rough water conditions (for water activities)
- Extreme heat or cold
- Any condition deemed unsafe for participants
5. Liability and Risk Assumption
5.1 Assumption of Risk
By participating in any Prawns Lake Conservation Project experiences or activities, you acknowledge that:
- Outdoor activities, including but not limited to kayaking, hiking, and wildlife viewing, involve inherent risks
- These risks may include but are not limited to: injury, illness, death, property damage, or loss
- You voluntarily assume all such risks
- You understand that your participation is entirely at your own risk
5.2 Physical Activity Disclaimer
- These activities require a reasonable level of physical fitness
- Participants should assess their own physical abilities
- Participants with heart conditions, back problems, or other health concerns should not participate
- Participants are responsible for consulting with medical professionals before participation
5.3 Water Activity Disclaimer
- Water activities carry significant risk
- Swimming ability is required for water activities
- Participants may be required to wear life jackets
- Participants must follow all safety instructions
- The Organization is not responsible for drowning or water-related injuries
5.4 Waiver of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, participants agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless:
- Prawns Lake Conservation Project
- Its owners, employees, guides, and agents
- From any and all liability, claims, demands, and causes of action
- Arising from participation in any activity or use of any facilities
This waiver applies to all personal injuries, deaths, and property damage, including those caused by the negligence of the Organization or its agents, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
